Can " it " refer to a child ?

Alsalam alaikum
how r u everyone ?
please read the following sentences and find out the mistakes if possible:
1- A child was trapped at a window but the firemen rescued it

2- That child is very active . It never stops moving

my questions is : Does " it " refer to "the word " child " is it possible
as I know " it " could refer to a baby or infant because they can be aware of anything around them but for a child I haven’t heard that " it " refer to a child

My 2nd question is that :
can we add "s" to the verb if it is proceeded by never just like the previous sentence or can we say " It never stop moving .

Thanks a lotbut bye the way the mentioned sentences are found in the book of 2nd grade secondary school ,1st term

Wa alikom Alsalam
First, Of course you can not say it about a child , actually people now are starting to say he and she about animals

The composer might have got confused between the child and the window ( hahahaha)loool

Second, as far as I know, yes you can add "s" to the verb if it is proceeded by never in this case

These books are full of mistakes no mater what these people do but to avoid them, native speakers should make these books

In the name of ALLAH

for the first question I think it is wrong to put the pronoun"it" because the pronoun "it" is a subject pronoun. you have to put the object pronoun "him" instead….

that is my humble opinion

Thanks

hi my brother

1- as far as I know, it can be used to refer to a child because he or she isn’t dealt as an adult person. In addition,it’s as a kind of spoiling

2- yes!!!! you can use it as a present simple tense
